WEBINAR: A Lunar Program for Library Telescopes
PRESENTERS:
Rocky Togni, Central Arkansas Astronomical Society
MODERATOR:
Don Ficken, St. Louis Astronomical Society, Astronomical Society of Eastern Missouri
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Since before recorded time our ancestors understood the cycles of the moon and used them in their day to day life. Even today we go by lunar cycles – months, tides, best time to plant, etc. This presentation by Rocky Togni of the Central Astronomical Society will give you a systematic way not just to view interesting lunar features but to learn your way around the moon, start to understand the time line of the forming the moon, the motions of the moon, including eclipses, and prepare you for upcoming new explorations of the moon. It will include a checklist of features easy to see with the Library telescope, the best time to see them, and a certificate of completion if you accomplish seeing all of them.
